MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — The Maple Heights Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that took place at 17501 Broadway Avenue on Thursday night.
Police responded to the scene at 7:41 p.m. after getting reports of a female being shot. Upon arrival, the police discovered a woman with a gunshot wound to her chest.
The victim was transported to Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center, where she passed away.
According to the Maple Heights Police Department, a witness saw a male flee the area after the shooting.
At 9:14 p.m., the North Randall Police Department located the suspect at a gas station and took him into custody.
At this time, the female victim has not been identified.
