PARMA, Ohio — Two teens have been taken into custody following a Parma police chase early Tuesday morning.
The situation started around 1 a.m. when officers attempted to stop a Ford Fusion without a visible license plate on Orchard Avenue. That's when police say the vehicle fled, turning northbound onto West 54th Street.
When the vehicle made its way to Brookpark Road, Parma police successfully deployed spike strips in an attempt to slow the vehicle.
The chase continued from Brookpark Road to State Road heading northbound toward Pearl Road. After turning onto Pearl from State, the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with an empty RTA bus stop.
Police say the driver of the vehicle fled on foot after the crash and was taken into custody shortly after. The passenger was also taken into custody upon exiting the vehicle. Both are 16 year old boys. Neither reported any injuries from the incident.
Both teens have been taken to the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center.
