A Cuyahoga County grand jury has indicted two men in connection with the attempted kidnapping of a woman from a Cleveland RTA station earlier this month.
Thirty-nine-year-old Sean Simpkins and 43-year-old David McCord, both Cleveland residents, are accused of assaulting the 22-year-old victim on the afternoon of April 3 at the West Boulevard-Cudell station on Detroit Avenue. Both defendants face multiple charges, including kidnapping, abduction, and human trafficking.
Specifically, police say Simpkins dragged the woman out of the station to a car in a parking lot along West 98th Street. McCord was in the driver's seat waiting for the moment to flee, but a Good Samaritan saw what happened and called 911, giving the victim a chance to escape.

Both Simpkins and McCord drove away in their black Toyota R, but were eventually located near West 104th Street. McCord was arrested while still inside the vehicle, while Simpkins was apprehended outside a nearby coffee shop. The two are currently being held at the Cuyahoga County Jail.
Court record show lengthy criminal histories for both Simpkins and McCord, with convictions for charges such as drug trafficking, aggravated burglary, and assault often times resulting in prison sentences that totaled multiple years. If found guilty of the current charges against them, the pair could face several decades behind bars.
