CANTON, Ohio — Two men were sentenced to 20 to 25 1/2 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges stemming from an shooting involving a Canton police officer.
Trezjon Allen and Braylen Smallwood were arrested in June of 2023 after an officer who was attempting to apprehend them for an unrelated incident was grazed by a bullet while they attempted to flee.
Trezjon Allen pleaded guilty to the following charges:
- Attempted murder - two counts
- Felonious Assault - two counts
- Participating in a criminal gang
- Tampering with Evidence
- Having weapons under disability, which includes four counts of firearm specification and four counts of criminal gang activity specification.
Braylen Smallwood pleaded guilty to the following charges:
- Attempted Murder - two counts
- Felonious Assault -two counts
- Tampering with evidence, that includes four firearm specification and four criminal gang activity specification.
