AKRON, Ohio — A 26-year-old man is listed in critical condition after being shot in the head in Akron on Saturday morning.
According to Akron Police, officers responded to the 800 block of Crouse Street at 5:50 a.m. for a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a white car on the tree lawn in front of a residence with a victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the head inside.
The victim was transported to Summa Health Akron City Hospital via EMS and is listed in critical condition as of Monday morning.
Officers later located an 18-year-old male, who reportedly was inside the car when an unknown suspect fired at the vehicle striking the gunshot victim. The 18-year-old male was not injured during the incident.
Evidence, including shell casings, was collected at the scene as officers work to identify the suspect or suspects responsible for the shooting and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
