4 teens arrested for 2022 murder of 23-year-old Lyndhurst business owner

Dailyn Ferguson was fatally shot while inside a vehicle outside of DF Kickz on Mayfield Road.

LYNDHURST, Ohio — Four teenagers have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old business owner in Lyndhurst in May 2022, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office has confirmed to 3News.

Dailyn B. Ferguson was shot while in a vehicle while outside of his store, DF KICKZ on Mayfield Road, on May 8, 2022. He later died after being taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Court records show that 19-year-old Abu Hakim, 18-year-old Jahseem Sales, 19-year-old Lae'Juan Nasir Robinson and 19-year-old Reginald Bruce Jr. have each been charged with aggravated murder and firearm specification charges, including "drive by shooting." A court hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 12.

Surveillance video from the incident shows a suspect vehicle, which police identified as a blue 2008 Volkswagen Jetta with an Ohio license plate number HBG 7262, pulling into the parking lot, opening fire and subsequently fleeing south on Biltmore Road. The car, with heavily tinted windows on all sides, was reported stolen out of Warrensville Heights May 1.

3News previously reported that police considered the shooting a "targeted attack."

In August 2022, the suspect vehicle was located unoccupied at an apartment complex in the 17500 block of Euclid Avenue in Cleveland. Lyndhurst police detectives and members of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation examined the vehicle for evidence and sent it to the Cuyahoga County Regional Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis.

An investigation into the fatal shooting remains ongoing.
