CLEVELAND — Four suspects wanted in connection with a deadly shooting earlier this month in Cleveland have been arrested by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF).
According to the Cleveland Division of Police, officers were called to the 1100 block of East 145th Street on September 11 for the report of a man shot. Police found a 39-year-old man with several gunshot wounds, who was unconscious and not breathing.
Kiarah Bonner, 22, Johnae Bonner, 20, Donajia Bonner, 19, and Brandon Reed, 18, were all identified as being involved in the deadly shooting. Homicide warrants were issued for all four people.
One week later, on September 18, the NOVFTF arrested all three Bonner females. Kiarah Bonner was arrested near the 4100 block of E. 59th Street in Cleveland, Johnae Bonner was captured near the 13900 block of Superior Avenue, while Donajia Bonner was arrested near the 12700 block of Shaker Boulevard in Shaker Heights.
On Friday, task force members arrested Brandon Reed near the 1200 block of E. 175th Street in Cleveland.
The arrests by the NOVFTF were made as part of the ongoing "Operation 216" initiative with the city of Cleveland, according to U.S. Marshal Pete Elliot. As part of the initiative, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force are focusing on targeted hot spots in the city of Cleveland. In addition, Operation 216 also includes an additional cold case investigator assigned to work on unsolved homicide cases ranging from two to three years old.
Elliott stated that the capture of Reed marked the 20th homicide suspect arrested by marshals since the start of Operation 216.
