CLEVELAND — A 40-year-old woman was found fatally shot on a sidewalk in Cleveland on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Cleveland police, officers responded to the area of Hawthorne and Ashland at approximately 1:13 p.m. after a woman was found on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body. The woman, since identified as Cleveland native Keana Coker, was pronounced dead on the scene.
A preliminary investigation has indicated that a motorist passing by saw the victim down on the ground and alerted residents, who proceeded to call the police. A nearby citizen reported having heard shots fired between 2:30 and 3 a.m.
An investigation remains underway. Anybody with information regarding the incident is asked to contact investigators at 216-623-5464. Anonymous information can also be provided by calling Crimestoppers of Cuyahoga County INC at 216-25-CRIME. A cash reward of up to $5,000 may be available.
