AKRON, Ohio — An arrest has been made in connection to the fatal shooting of a 42-year-old man in Akron that happened on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022.
On March 3, Akron Police announced that the suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Christopher Jones, who was arrested and charged with aggravated murder. During the arrest, officers discovered a handgun, which was recovered.
The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Akron Police Department investigated the alleged homicide of Eddie Johnson III. Johnson was found deceased at his residence, located at 29th Street, SW in Akron.
The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy, with Johnson's cause of death being ruled a Homicide from multiple gunshot wounds.
