CLEVELAND — A Cuyahoga County grand jury has indicted a 79-year-old man following the deadly hit-and-run of a Lakewood business owner last year on Cleveland's west side.
According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office, Gus Blavos faces a felony charge of failure to stop after an accident, plus a misdemeanor charge of vehicular homicide. An arraignment for Blavos has been set for Feb. 22.
The Cleveland Division of Police says the incident happened in the 3700 block of West 130th Street at around 9 p.m. on Dec. 16.
Cassandra Fear, 41, was struck by another vehicle after exiting her vehicle after hitting a parked vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
Last year, 3News featured Fear in a story about the closing of her business "Fear's Confections" in Lakewood.
