AKRON, Ohio — The man police claim intentionally struck and killed a man and his young daughter last weekend in Akron has turned himself in, officials confirmed Friday evening.

36-year-old Shawn Allen charged two counts of aggravated murder. Officials say he used a black SUV to run down 43-year-old Horace Lee and 1-year-old Azeria Tucker Sunday morning, leaving both dead in a Crouse Street driveway.

Authorities first sent out an alert after multiple potential suspects were recently spotted with several other people at the Euro Gyro on East Exchange Street. The vehicle apparently involved in the crime had been recovered, and this afternoon Allen was identified as the prime suspect in the case.

Police say Allen turned himself in at department headquarters just hours after his photograph was circulated to the media. Although he is in custody, the investigation remains ongoing.

As he is charged with aggravated murder, Allen could potentially face the death penalty if convicted.
