AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating the suspects who shoplifted a Walgreens store on Sunday.

Officers responded to the Walgreens in the 1100 block of S. Arlington Street on Sunday afternoon at around 4:45 p.m. for a robbery call. The store manager, a 28-year-old male, told police that he was assaulted during a shoplifting incident.

According to the store manager, two unknown suspects pushed two carts full of unpaid merchandise out of the store. When he confronted one of the suspects and asked for a receipt, the subject became combative.  One of the suspects then scratched and spit on him before discarding one of the carts of merchandise and fleeing the scene with the other.
