CLEVELAND — A strong police presence is on West 85th Street and Lorain Avenue in Cleveland after an alleged bank robbery led to pursuit by an Independence police officer.
According to the Brecksville Police Department, a robbery at Dollar Bank in Brecksville led to the police chase.
An Independence police officer saw the vehicle of the suspects involved in the alleged bank robbery, and a chase ensued. The police pursuit ended in Cleveland at the intersection of West 85th Street and Lorain Avenue.
Throughout the chase, authorities say a few crashes happened along the way, which led to both suspects being transported to MetroHealth for evaluation.
The Independence police cruiser was struck during the pursuit, but the officer did not sustain any injuries.
The Brecksville Police Department said it's believed the suspects may have been involved in other bank robberies in the area.
