BRUNSWICK, Ohio — A 23-year-old Brunswick man has been arrested for the alleged assault of baby who was less than one-month-old at the time, court records show.
According to court documents, James D. Smith was arrested and charged with felonious assault in connection with an assault on his 28-day-old baby on Feb 19. The baby suffered injuries including skull fractures, which have resulted in seizures.
Smith was indicted on Feb. 27 and taken into custody shortly thereafter. He posted his $100,000 bond on March 4.
Smith was ordered no contact with the victim or the victim's mother. He is required to return to court for an arraignment on March 7 at 9 a.m.
