CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — A Cleveland Heights woman was shot in the leg Wednesday night after gunfire entered her home.
According to officials, officers were called to the 900 block of Yellowstone Road around 6:00 pm Wednesday to check out a report of gunfire in the area.
Upon arrival, Cleveland Heights police officers found a woman had been shot in the leg after gunshots had entered her home from the street.
Police provided medical assistance until paramedics arrived. The woman, whose identity has not been shared, was transported to a local hospital where she is in stable condition.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was in the upstairs bedroom laying on her bed when two shots were fired into the house. The woman was shot once in the leg.
At this time, officials do not have any suspects but do believe that the shots may have come from a white or silver sedan that was traveling northbound on Yellowstone Road.
