SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — A Summit County man faces several charges, including drug trafficking, after being arrested as part of an investigation by several law enforcement agencies.
The Springfield Township Police Department, along with Metro SWAT, and the Cuyahoga Falls SWAT team, executed several search warrants at a business and home in Springfield Township.The searches were conducted with information obtained on illegal firearms and gambling at the locations.
Police say that during the course of the investigation and searches, officers confiscated several illegal gambling machines, 10 pounds of marijuana, 11 handguns, an AR-15, three ballistic vests, and over $500,000 in cash.
Law enforcement officials arrested 39-year-old Derrick Chatman of Springfield Township. He was charged with several offenses including Drug Trafficking, Weapons Under Disability, and Possession of Drugs. Further charges are pending.
Chatman is being held in the Summit County Jail.
