CLEVELAND — A man was robbed at gunpoint in the area of East 9th Street and Prospect Avenue, according to the Cleveland Division of Police.
The incident took place on Tuesday, September 12 at approximately 3:52 p.m. According to an initial investigation, the victim was attempting to sell items to a suspect, when that person temporarily left the area of the sale.
When the suspect returned to the scene, another individual came back with him, both pointing firearms at the victim. Police say one of the firearms was an AK-47 assault rifle. Both suspects took property from the victim, including a firearm the victim had in his possession.
The suspects attempted to steal the victim's vehicle, but were unsuccessful. The suspects then fled the scene in another vehicle.
The incident remains under investigation by the Third District Detective Bureau. The Cleveland Division of Police asks if anyone has information about this crime, please contact them at 216-623-5318.
