Cleveland Police investigating shooting death of 37-year-old man

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 37-year-old man Wednesday. 

Officials responded to East 70th Street and Quimby Avenue for reports of a man shot just before 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1. At the scene, the victim identified as Frank Lyons, was found in the driver's seat of a car that had crashed. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to University Hospital for treatment. Lyons was pronounced dead the following day.

His passenger, a 28-year-old woman who has not been identified, told police the two were driving when a man shot at them from a field and she returned fire.

The woman was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and discharging a firearm over a roadway.
