Having been under curfew restrictions since Saturday, the City of Cleveland has extended its curfew restrictions through Friday, June 5, Mayor Frank Jackson announced on Tuesday.
Between Wednesday, June 3 and Friday, June 5, the Restricted Area in Cleveland -- which includes the Central Business District within the municipal boundaries of the City of Cleveland and the W. 25th Market District -- will be permitted to be open for ordinary business activity from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and under curfew restrictions from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Exemptions have been made for credentialed media, residents of the restricted areas, essential medical personnel and essential City personnel.
Businesses in the affected areas are encouraged to close during the curfew hours, while all residents are asked to remain within their homes as much as possible.

The extension of Cleveland's curfew restrictions comes after an initially peaceful protest of the killing of a Minnesota man named George Floyd turned violent on Saturday and led to a Proclamation of Civil Emergency in Cleveland. Since Saturday at 8 p.m., Cleveland has been under curfew restrictions, with the current order set to expire at 6 a.m. on Wednesday before Tuesday's extension was put in place.
