PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio — A 44-year-old man faces several charges after fleeing from police in Parma Heights and leading officers on a chase that finally ended in Cleveland.
According to Parma Heights Police Chief Steve Scharschmidt, the incident began on Monday afternoon at around 4:45 p.m. Officers had attempted to stop a car with stolen plates near the intersection of Huffman Road and Stumph Road.
The vehicle, a 2007 Toyota, fled from the scene. Police followed the vehicle as the chase ultimately ended in Cleveland at the intersection of West 150th Street and Emery Avenue.
Scharschmidt told 3News that officers tased the driver of the car when he resisted arrest. The suspect, who has not yet been identified, was taken to an area hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening.
The suspect faces felony charges for fleeing police and resisting arrest. He had already had several warrants out for his arrest.
