AKRON, Ohio — Akron Police responded to an assault and robbery outside of the Circle K in the 900 block of East Exchange Street on Monday morning.
Upon arrival, police found that a 73-year-old male, who was in a wheelchair at the time, had been approached by a male who punched him in the face multiple times. Police say the elderly male sustained minor facial injuries. The suspect then took the victim's lottery tickets and cash and ran away.
Akron Police officers searched the area for the suspect and found Hasan Jabbar several blocks away in the area of Hazel and Cotter Street.
Jabbar was arrested and police recovered the stolen lottery tickets and cash. Jabbar was charged with Robbery and Assault and was booked into the Summit County Jail.
