ELYRIA, Ohio — A 41-year-old Elyria man is facing charges of felonious assault and aggravated robbery in connection with a stabbing Sunday morning.
Elyria police say it was around 10:15 a.m. when officers responded to the emergency room at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center where they found a man “had been brought in suffering from multiple knife wounds to his face and head.”
Police say preliminary information indicates the alleged assault happened around 9 a.m. in a vacant lot near West Avenue and 16th Street in Elyria.
“While conducting follow-up investigation at the assault scene, officers located a subject identified as Andrew Davison, who admitted to the assault,” according to a press release from Elyria police. “Davison was found with the knife used in the attack and was taken into custody. Davison confessed to the assault and his intent to injure the victim during the altercation.”
Police say Davison is currently being held at the Lorain County Jail without bond until his arraignment in Elyria Municipal Court.
