EUCLID, Ohio — Just a day after the shooting of a 10-year-old girl on Monday, police in Euclid have announced the arrest of a suspect.
A man was arrested on September 12th, 2023 and charged with one count of felonious assault. He was later found not guilty in June.
According to Capt. Mitch Houser, gunfire "erupted" from a home on Halle Drive at around 2:30 p.m. Children had just been released from an elementary school. The 10-year-old girl was standing in her yard, several houses away from where the gunfire originated, when she was struck in the arm by a bullet.
Houser says the girl was treated at an area hospital and is now home recovering. Investigators say she was not the intended target of the gunfire.
No other injuries were reported.
