EUCLID, Ohio — Two suspects are in the hospital after authorities tell 3News they were shot while trying to force their way into a residence while armed with a handgun earlier this week.
Police say the incident happened shortly before 11 p.m. Monday in the 20400 block of Miller Avenue.
The resident, who authorities say was also armed, opened fire and struck both suspects. Police say the male suspect was hit three times, while the female suspect was struck six times.
The couple fled the scene eastbound on Miller Avenue where police later found them in their vehicle near East 222nd Street. Both were taken to University Hospitals for treatment, and police tell 3News that both suspects are expected to recover.
The resident was taken into custody pending an investigation by the Euclid Police Department Detective Bureau.
