LAKE COUNTY, Ohio — Officials in Lake County are asking for the public's help in tracking down the suspect who robbed the Marathon gas station in Perry Township earlier this week.

According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, the robbery happened just after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Marathon on North Ridge Road.

Witnesses say a male entered the store and took out a semi-automatic handgun. He proceeded to hold a female customer in the store down against the counter as he demanded cash from the store employee.  After the store employee gave the suspect cash, he forcibly moved the female customer away from the counter and pushed her out the front door in front of him all while continuing to hold his gun.

The suspect then released the female after safely exiting the store and fled the area in an unidentified vehicle.

Sheriff's deputies are asking anyone who has any information regarding this aggravated robbery to contact them at (440) 350-5620. Or send an email at sheriffwebmaster@lakecountyohio.org.
