AKRON, Ohio — Issac Armour, the 32-year-old Akron man accused of assaulting a woman in the Summit Metro Parks, has been indicted by a grand jury.
According to the Summit County Prosecutor's Office, Armour is facing charges of kidnapping, attempted rape, abduction, plus two counts of gross sexual imposition. He pleaded not guilty at an arraignment on Oct. 1 with bond set at $500,000.
A competency evaluation was ordered for Armour after a request by his attorney. The next hearing in the case is set for Nov. 19.
Akron police say the incident happened in the 1100 block of Cuyahoga Street near Trailhead at around 9:17 a.m. on August 13.
Officers and a ranger with Summit Metro Parks responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call about a woman screaming for help. Upon arriving at the scene, officers spoke with the 33-year-old victim, who was visibly shaken up.
The victim told police that she was coming from the bathroom when the suspect allegedly grabbed her from behind and started assaulting her.

"Moments later, three good Samaritan women heard the victim screaming for help and went to her aid. During the attack, one of the women reportedly struck the suspect in the head with a rock, and together, they helped pull the victim away from her attacker," said Akron police in a press release.
