Following Sunday's shooting, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force captured Harmon at an address in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday.
"Luckily here in very short order, we were able to find out where he was hiding, which ended up being that he was hiding just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, at a hotel. We were able to locate him and safely take him into custody," said Anne Murphy, the assistant chief in Northern Ohio with the U.S. Marshals Service.
The shooting happened Sunday in the 2100 block of Hall of Fame Way at approximately 4 p.m. Police say they found 40-year-old Diamond Strickland of Akron with two gunshot wounds to his lower extremities. Strickland was taken by paramedics to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in serious condition. As of Tuesday, Canton police say Strickland is in stable condition.
Police say Harmon fled the scene in a red Ford Ranger truck with the Tennessee license plate 082BBMV.
According to the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, Harmon allegedly shot the victim following an argument. Canton police believe the shooting was "an isolated incident which resulted from a personal domestic-related conflict."
