WOOSTER, Ohio — A 17-year-old is in custody after allegedly fatally shooting his father in Wooster on Wednesday.
According to Wooster Police, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1600 block of Gasche Street shortly after 11 p.m. for a report of a man with a gunshot wound. Upon arriving, officers immediately rendered first aid to the victim, who was then transported to the Wooster Community Hospital via Wooster Fire/EMS.
An investigation revealed that the victim had been shot by his 17-year-old son following an altercation. The 17-year-old has since been taken into custody.
After being stabilized, the victim was transported to Akron General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Wooster Police Department Detective Bureau is now investigating the incident.
