CLEVELAND — One person is dead and another injured following a shooting in Cleveland's Jefferson neighborhood late Saturday afternoon.

Police were called to Jefferson Park around 5:35 p.m. and found a 24-year-old man shot in the head. Not far away, on the 3600 block of West 134th Street, a 25-year-old man was found with a bullet in his hip.

Both victims were rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center, where the 24-year-old ended up dying from his injuries. He has since been identified as Torrey Bowling, of Cleveland.

Witnesses told authorities the two were heading to the park to play basketball when a white vehicle approached and its occupants began firing. According to officials, this car had been stolen from the area around West 63rd Street and Storer Avenue this past Friday.

Officers later located the suspect vehicle near Baldwin and Mount Carmel Roads and, following a "short pursuit," the car crashed in the 2400 block of Baldwin. Four males ran away but were eventually caught, with three allegedly connected to the shooting: one 17-year-old and two 18-year-olds.

The names of the three suspects have not yet been released. The incident remains under investigation.
