MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — One person is dead and two are now in custody following an overnight shooting in Maple Heights.
Police say it was around 2:20 a.m. Saturday when officers responded to the 18000 block of Raymond Street “regarding two suspicious males in the area knocking on doors.”
Upon their arrival, police found a man on the ground in the 19000 block of Raymond Street with two gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where police say he later died from his injuries.
The victim’s name and age have not yet been released.
Two men, who police say were involved in the incident, were found at the intersection of Raymond Street and Camden Road. Both were taken into custody and transported to the Maple Heights Police Department.
“During the initial investigation, it was discovered that a third male involved fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival,” police said in a press release.
