MENTOR, Ohio — 62-year-old Jeffrey McGaffick, who is identified as an attorney from Mentor, has been arrested in connection with an undercover operation amid allegations he was seeking to buy sex.
McGaffick has been charged with engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools, according to details released Thursday morning from Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene.
“McGaffick is an attorney whose Cleveland-area practice includes real estate title work,” according to a press release from Yost’s office. “He also purports to have served as a part-time acting municipal court judge in Mentor.”
The Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force investigation was conducted with the help of the Salem Police Department.
“The task force consists of representatives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, East Palestine Police Department, Austintown Police Department, Youngstown Police Department, Warren Police Department, Adult Parole Authority and Ohio Investigative Unit,” Yost’s office explains.
McGaffick is the second attorney to be arrested by the task force in recent months after Yost’s office announced the arrest of Kenneth Martin of Macedonia from a previous sting back in February.
