AKRON, Ohio — One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting that took place at a bar in Akron on Wednesday night.
According to Akron Police, officers responded to a reported shooting at the D&K Bar & Pub located in the 1300 block of E Archwood Avenue at approximately 10:47 p.m. Upon arriving, officers found a 21-year-old male with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was subsequently transported to Summa Health Akron City Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
A 28-year-old male who had also been shot was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle before later succumbing to his injuries.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the victims were standing outside of a bar when unknown suspects pulled into the parking lot and opened fire on them. An investigation is ongoing with detectives working to identify the suspects involved in the shooting and to determine if there are any additional victims.
