STARK COUNTY, Ohio — A man has been arrested in Perry Township and charged with the murder of an Akron woman.
The arrest stems from an incident that happened on New Year's Day.
Perry Township police responded to a call for a domestic disturbance in the 3600 block of Brairdale Drive NW. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive woman in the front yard of a property on the street.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She was identified as 48-year-old Leah Zweidinger of Akron.
The suspect, 47-year-old Lee Greenwalt of Massillon, was immediately arrested at the scene and charged with the following:
- Murder
- Felonious Assault
