CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — A suspect has been identified and incarcerated in the case of a Cuyahoga Falls automobile theft in which a victim was rear-ended, then had her car stolen at gunpoint, the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department announced.
The alleged theft occurred on Tuesday at approximately 11:30 a.m. A victim told police that she was rear-ended by the suspect's vehicle around the 2600 block of 3rd Street.
When the victim stopped after the crash, an occupant of the car that hit hers "brandished a handgun and ordered the victim to relinquish her vehicle," police said. Both cars then fled on 3rd Street toward Bailey Road.
Charges are now pending against one suspect, who is in custody. The victim's vehicle was recovered and returned during the ongoing investigation, according to police.
Police did not release any details on the incarcerated suspect. Neither the suspect's name nor his alleged involvement in the theft was specified.
