SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio — South Euclid police are searching for the suspect responsible in a sexual assault involving an 81-year-old woman who lives in the Bexley Park neighborhood.
Authorities announced details of the case Friday, which dates back to Nov. 15. Police say it was around 7:30 p.m. that night when the woman heard a knock at her door. Upon answering, South Euclid police say a male knocked her to the floor and sexually assaulted her.
"The victim was able to push her medical alert button that was hanging on a necklace around her neck," according to a press release from the South Euclid Police Department. "Upon seeing this, the male fled the area on foot."
The suspect is described as a teen with a slender build. He was last seen wearing a dark blue zip-up hooded sweatshirt, camouflage pants and black tennis shoes with a distinct white pattern on the side of his shoe sole.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Ken Patterson at 216-691-4256.
