Woman charged with killing Cleveland police officer Shane Bartek faces judge in unrelated arson case

The arson charge filed against 18-year-old Tamara McLoyd is connected to a Cadillac CTS last November.

CLEVELAND — The 18-year-old woman charged in the murder of Cleveland police officer Shane Bartek was back in court Thursday morning to face a judge in an unrelated arson case.

During the brief hearing, Tamara McLoyd appeared via video as her bond in this particular case was continued at $50,000 with the first pretrial set for 9 a.m. on Feb. 17.

Court records show the arson charge is connected to an incident involving a 2015 Cadillac CTS back in November.

McLoyd has been in custody since her arrest in the New Year’s Eve shooting death of officer Bartek. She has pleaded not guilty in that case.
