WESTLAKE, Ohio — An investigation is underway in Westlake after a home invasion occurred in an apartment early Monday morning.
Westlake Police say they were called to the Columbia Colony Apartments around 7:41 a.m. When they arrived, they found two people tied up inside the apartment. Both people were injured.
Witnesses told police that several males were involved in the incident and had left the scene on foot. Police say the suspects entered the apartment, tied up the victims and stole items from inside. They say this was not a random crime and they believe that this apartment was targeted.
Police were able to arrest two males and a female in connection to the assault and robbery. A handgun was also recovered during the police investigation. It is unclear what the motive is or the connection the suspects or victims may have.
One of the victims was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries suffered during the incident.
The suspects are expected to face charges on Tuesday.
