UPS truck robbed at gunpoint, thieves get away with several packages in Akron

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department is searching for the suspects who robbed a UPS truck of packages on Tuesday afternoon. 

According to police, the robbery happened at around 4:45 p.m. in the 500 block of Eva Avenue. Two suspects approached a United Parcel Service (UPS) driver and ordered the man to leave the truck at gunpoint. 

The suspects drove away in the UPS truck for a short distance before abandoning the truck and jumping into a small silver car with an unidentified driver. 

The number of packages taken from the truck is unknown at this time.

The first suspect was approximately 20-25-years old, 6’0”– 6’2”. He had dreadlocks and a thin mustache. The second suspect was 20-25-years old, approximately 5’9” tall, with a beard. Both suspects were wearing white t-shirts. There is no description of the driver of the getaway car.
