CLEVELAND — For the second day in a row, the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force captured a suspect from out-of-state who was wanted for murder.

On Friday. NOVFTF members arrested 27-year-old Stephen Johnson in Cleveland. Johnson was wanted by the Little Rock Police Department in Arkansas for capital murder.
Johnson was captured at a location in the 11800 block of Imperial Avenue. He was taken to the Cuyahoga County Jail, where he will await extradition back to Arkansas.
According to police, Johnson was involved in the Nov. 27, 2023 shooting death of 21-year-old Avron Britton of College Station, Arkansas. Officers responded to the 2800 block of Boyle Park Road following a report of a person shot. They found Britton lying in the road and suffering from gunshot wounds.
A warrant was taken out for Johnson's arrest on Dec. 3.
On Thursday, members of the task force teamed up with the Euclid Police Department to arrest Davonte Childs, who was wanted for murder in Georgia.
“Northern Ohio is not a safe haven for fugitives wanted for murder. The officers that make up our fugitive task force take pride in protecting the streets of northern Ohio, by taking violent fugitives, no matter where they are from, off our streets," said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott in a statement.
