CLEVELAND — Devonte Parker, who was wanted for two separate homicides including the recent death of a 3-year-old child, has been arrested on Cleveland's east side.
Members of the Cleveland Division of Police as well as the U.S. Marshals' Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force captured Parker Monday. Prior to the official announcement, police sources had confirmed to 3News that he was captured on the city's east side.
Authorities originally asked for help tracking down Parker earlier Monday. Parker is the fourth suspect caught in connection with the killing of 3-year-old Luis Diaz, who died this past Thursday after being shot while sitting in a car on West 66th Street.
Preceding Parker's arrest, 30-year-old Katherine Treadway was arrested Friday along with 34-year-old Juan Davis on charges related to Diaz's murder. Treadway and Davis both made their first court appearance in the case on Monday. Bond was set for Davis at $2 million as the judge noted he was on post-release control at the time of the shooting, while Treadway is being held on $500,000. Both are due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 8:30 a.m.
In addition, a 16-year-old is also in custody following Diaz's killing. Exact charges are not known at this time.
According to officials, Parker is also accused in another homicide that happened on May 21 of this year. The victim, Jalen Dalton, was shot and killed in his vehicle on East 75th Street in Cleveland. Dalton was still in his car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
