Katherine Treadway, 30, was arrested on Friday along with 34-year-old Juan Davis on charges related to Diaz's murder.
Treadway and Davis both made their first court appearance in the case on Monday. Bond was set for Davis at $2 million as the judge noted he was on post-release control at the time of the shooting, while Treadway is being held on $500,000. Both are due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 8:30 a.m.
Here's footage from their first court appearances on Monday:
Treadway told the media that she had administered CPR to the child while she got a hold of emergency crews after the boy was shot. This comes as a surprise to a nearby auto repair shop owner, Ken Easterly. He says just 10 minutes prior to the shooting, Treadway was at his business.
"She had a tire leak and I aired it up for her."
Easterly says in his 25 years at this location he has seen his fair share of crime, but nothing like this.
"This is like a weird thing for something like that to happen to a three year old. That's not like stuff that happens every day."
Twelve bullets were fired in the incident, which also left a 31-year-old man injured after being shot in the foot. That victim has been identified as Luis' stepfather José Mateo, who tells 3News the family is "devastated."
Late Sunday night, it was revealed that Cleveland police have made another arrest in connection to the shooting. A 16-year-old was taken into custody with the charges yet to be revealed.
On Monday, a fourth suspect named Devonte Parker was also arrested in connection with this as well as another homicide. He is expected to be arraigned at a later date.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help pay for Luis' funeral expenses.
