COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohioans will soon be able to track the spread of the Coronavirus vaccine within the state.
During his Monday afternoon press conference, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that the state--along with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH)--will soon launch a new tool on the COVID-19 dashboard that allows Ohioans to track the distribution and number of people who have received the Coronavirus vaccine as more vaccinations and doses arrive in the coming week.
This comes after the first doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Columbus and Cincinnati on Monday morning.
"We are now going to be putting up a vaccine dashboard so that people can follow and see how many vaccinations have actually occurred in Ohio," Governor DeWine said during the conference. "In the next few days, we will launch this COVID-19 vaccination dashboard."
The new dashboard will look similar to other dashboards the state and ODH have used in the past, including a dashboard for the Hepatitis-A vaccine, which DeWine used as a visual example during the Monday briefing.
"This dashboard will show you the number of people vaccinated in Ohio," Governor DeWine wrote on Twitter. "You'll be able to sort the information by demographic data and by county."
Despite DeWine stating during the press conference that the state is currently unsure who will be the next immediate group to receive the vaccine, the tool will be available later this week on the state's website.
