CLEVELAND — In their recent call to action, University Hospitals requested the help of the community to help sew 100,000 masks for caregivers on the front line.
The community was swift in their response, as UH distributed all of their kits containing materials to make the masks. But time is still of the essence in the wage against COVID-19.
UH has issued a follow-up requesting that anyone with an outstanding mask-making kit please finish sewing and return the completed masks as soon as possible.
So far, close to 30,000 masks have been finished and returned to UH for distribution to caregivers.
Masks sewn by volunteers with their own materials will also continue to be accepted as donations. Volunteer sewers are encouraged to use the UH-specific design and pattern found on their website here https://www.uhhospitals.org/healthcare-update/masks-and-donations .
As a reminder, finished masks can donated at any of the following locations at any time:
- UH Elyria Medical Center, main entrance valet (630 E. River Street)
- UH Geauga Medical Center, main entrance valet (13207 Ravenna Road)
- UH Parma Medical Center, main entrance (7007 Powers Blvd.)
- UH Management Services Center, back entrance (3605 Warrensville Center Road, Shaker Heights)
