Watch again: Gov. DeWine gives latest updates on coronavirus pandemic in Ohio

The state currently has more than 3,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — For the 26th consecutive day, Gov. Mike DeWine held a press conference in regards to Ohio's response to the coronavirus pandemic.

3,312 state residents have tested positive for the virus so far, with 91 dying from the disease. 895 of those patients have been hospitalized, with 288 being admitted to the ICU.

The governor was joined as always by Lt. Gov. Jon Husted and Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton. Dr. Acton on Thursday signed a measure extending the state's stay-at-home order through at least May 1, and also placed some restrictions on businesses that must stay open such as grocery stores.

On Friday, the administration made some limited announcements, notably that 38 Ohio prisoners are now eligible for early release due to COVID-19 concerns. DeWine says the state will be looking at measures like this "carefully" and that the final decision will ultimately be left with the local prosecutors.

Husted also had some updates from the business sector, namely that applications for small business relief loans are now available. In addition, ballots are about ready to be sent out for the primary election that will take place by mail later this month.
