Stephanie McCloud was first introduced in early November as the replacement for Dr. Amy Acton as the new director for the Ohio Department of Health.
3News' Monica Robins will speak exclusively with McCloud in her first interview since taking the new role under Gov. Mike DeWine amid the COVID-19 pandemic. You can watch the interview on WKYC Channel 3 Friday at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. We will also feature the full interview on WKYC.com.
"Director McCloud understands how state government operates and she knows how to get things done," DeWine said when he first introduced her several months ago. "She's a collaborator. She has the management and administrative expertise we need in these challenging times."
Dr. Acton resigned from the job back in June. She spoke out for the first time months later by telling The New Yorker that Joe Biden needs to take swift action to battle coronavirus if he were to win the election.
“We cannot wait two and a half months to start leading a messaging,” she's quoted in the article.
Biden’s presidential victory was just confirmed by Congress earlier Thursday morning.
