AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department is asking for help from the public following an attempted armed robbery that happened around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday at a Family Dollar store in the 500 block of Vernon Odom Boulevard.
According to an employee at Family Dollar, police say an armed suspect entered the store demanding money.
"After a brief verbal exchange with the clerk, the suspect ultimately fled the store without any cash," Akron police said in a press release Wednesday.
Police say the suspect was wearing a mask and a royal blue hooded sweatshirt.
The situation remains under investigation.
