AKRON, Ohio — The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank needs your help to reach their Harvest for Hunger campaign goal of 4.2 million meals.
On Wednesday and Thursday, financial donations to the Foodbank will be matched up to $15,000. The Foodbank says just $1 can help provide enough food for three meals.
For the next two days, your donations can make twice the impact for area families experiencing hunger.
Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank officials say the match challenge is being made possible thanks to support from The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, as well as "an anonymous friend of the Foodbank."
“The Harvest for Hunger Campaign is a vital resource for your Foodbank, allowing us to serve thousands of our neighbors experiencing hunger. The campaign is undoubtedly being impacted by inflation. As the Foodbank and our network of hunger-relief partners continue to serve people in record numbers, we’re asking for the community’s support – we can’t do this work without everyone’s help,” said Dan Flowers, Foodbank president and CEO, in a release.
