AKRON, Ohio — The City of Akron Fire Department has confirmed to 3News that crews are battling a fire at Pavona's Pizza.
The fire broke out Friday morning near Sand Run Road and West Market Street in Akron.
A neighboring business said the fire broke out at around 9:30 a.m.
According to Akron fire officials, smoke from the fire could be seen from a distance. Businesses in close proximity were evacuated.
Crews fought the fire for over five hours. There were no reported injuries.
Akron Police took to Twitter asking for the public to avoid the area as Sand Run Road and West Market Street are closed in both directions because of the fire.
At this time, no other details have been released.
