AKRON, Ohio — Members of the Akron Fire Department responded to two fires Monday afternoon in Summit County.
According to officials, the first fire broke out around 1:30 p.m. in the 300 block of West Exchange Street when crews were called to a home for reports of flames in the upstairs bedroom of a home.
Crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the upper right corner of a duplex and officials diverted traffic in the area while the fire was put out.
Two adults and two children were displaced as a result of this fire.
Roughly one hour later, Akron Fire officials were dispatched to 12200 block of Orlando Avenue for reports of people trapped inside a residential building.
Upon arrival, crews found smoke and flames on the left side of the building. Firefighters assisted one man who was found on the roof of the residence.
No other residents were trapped as a result of this fire and crews were able to get the blaze under control by 2:48 p.m. with no injuries.
