AKRON, Ohio — Akron authorities say one person was taken to the hospital in critical condition following a Monday evening fire in the 1100 block of Ackley Street.
Fire officials say crews responded to multiple calls for flames and smoke coming from the back of a house shortly before 9 p.m. Upon their arrival, firefighters witnessed the smoke and fire coming from a two-story duplex structure.
The flames were brought under control within a few minutes.
The American Red Cross was contacted to provide additional assistance for another resident who was displaced as a result of the fire.
Authorities did not provide any additional details, but stay with 3News as we will update this story if more information is released.
